My fishing adventures began when I was age 3 with my Dad and Grandpa. We were fishing on a Lake and I caught lots of fish. I loved it! I was raised in Grand Lake, Colorado at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Headwaters of the Colorado River. All of my free time was spent fishing on lakes, streams and rivers. My parents took me to Gulf Shores, Alabama at least twice a year from the time I was born and I got introduced to deep sea fishing, bayou fishing, shore fishing and cast netting.
I’ve been fortunate enough to fish for trout on Gray’s Reef in Wyoming, for tuna and dolphin in Maui, for trout all over Colorado, bone fish in the Florida Keys, red fish and speckled trout in the Bayou’s in Louisiana, for amberjack, cobia and snapper in Gulf Shores, Alabama and “living my dream” fly fishing and deep sea fishing in Alaska.
When I was 10 I found my Dad’s old fly rod and this was the point at which I put the spinning rod down and I was literally “hooked” on fly fishing! My Grandma bought me a fly tying kit and I began tying flies. I went fly fishing any chance that I could.
My Dad took me on my first trip to Alaska when I was 11 to go fishing, backpacking, hiking and touring the inside passage. When I returned home I told my Mom, “I’m going to move there someday”. I returned every summer thereafter to Alaska to continue this awesome experience of The Last Frontier. The day after I graduated from High School my parents put me on a plane to Alaska and I’ve been pursuing my passion and dream ever since.
While working on a sport fishing boat in Seward Alaska I’ve done over 155 trips. I’ve enjoyed interacting with the clientele and teaching them how to catch fish. During my free time in the last three years I’ve floated and fished the Kenai River, learned to read the water on the Kenai, learned the habitat on the Kenai and continued my love for maintaining a healthy environment for fisheries and water conservation.
I’ve saved my money the last three years to enable myself to pursue my dream of starting my own business. I’m a well-rounded fisherman and Fishing truly is my passion. I would love the opportunity to share my craft with you and give you the thrill of catching an Alaska fish on the Kenai River. Let’s go have some fun together!
